My Lords and Ladies. The time has come once again to send in your nominations for Cold Keep's Light of the North. This is our chance as a Shire to give our personal thanks and recognition to individuals in our area that have aided in the betterment and development of our local game. This will be awarded to the valued Shire member at a social to be held in Feb 2010.

Recommendations from the populace of Cold Keep are encouraged as they are vital to the selection process: no one person can see everything another person does. The populace of Cold Keep, for purposes of nominations and recommendations, is considered to be anyone who is a member of the Shire of Cold Keep or the WolfPack. One recommendation per person, please.

A Letter of Recommendation MUST include justification of the nomination; submitting a name without giving reasons why that person is worthy of consideration will result in that nomination being disregarded.

Send your recommendation to these three members of the committee:

* HL Vladimir Andreivich Aleksandrov
* HL Brigit ingen Meic Thíre Ruaidh
* HL Markus Pheilsmid

Recommendations may be made by PM on this Forum; or by hard copy in a sealed envelope to all three members of the committee.

If you have any other questions, please contact any of the committee members - we will be happy to help

Next, Lady Siban has been drawing up the scrolls each year. Thank you for that. I would like to put out an open call for any volunteers that would be interested in making the scroll this time around. If you would like to assist with this, please PM me.

Thank you, Markus, for posting this notice. I have been meaning to do so, but something else seems to always get in the way.

For those of you who don't know what the "Light of the North" is, the full details are on this website, under "Lights" (http://www.avacal-sca.org/coldkeep/light.htm).

The person who is selected for Light of the North must meet the established criteria; it is also nice if they attend the social in February, since it is largely in their honour

Markus asked for volunteers to draw up the scroll. We also need volunteers to paint it and do the calligraphy. Guidelines and text will be provided, as well as any aid we can give you.

Plese feel free to ask questions, but note that all recommendations must be made privately, not to the Forum.
