Honestly My practice right now is for me, not for scores.... I'm proving to myself I can maintain my 60 Average. I can score myself and such.... Yesterday I shot a 59... So :-) I'm happy with that. Like you said If anyone cheats they ultimatly cheat themselves.... Fact is... I'm working the other direction... I know what My average is, its nice to have a witness and recognition. But If no one sees me shoot again I'm good with it.
I'll just teach Lynn to Time me and I'll be good. (nothing can be entered) But I'll be happy.
Any luck and I can get in two more scored practices and average up.... Either way I'm still a Bowman :-p
As for why I post here.... That way others know when I am up there so they have somone to shoot with :-) No other reason. The season is Winding down, and as far as I am concerned Jeff, youve gone way above and beyond already. *Fingers Crossed Re: Elena making it on sunday*

It's cold, but clear. We'll be out at the range today (with a fire). See you all out there at 1pm(ish).

Sorry folks, no archery for me today. My mom is taking off for a few months and I'd like to see her before she leaves.

Lords and Ladies. Today ends the Royal Round season for 2011.
First, I would like to thank Elena for doing an absolutely awesome job in her first year in the Archery Officer position. Because of her stepping up, I was able to spend a little more time teaching and shooting and relaxing.
Second. I want to thank each and every person who came out to shoot this year. Once again, our numbers are exceptional. (Elena correct me if I'm wrong here)... with some quick counting on the Avacal Archery Score site, we have 28 archers who have shot Royal Rounds this year. If I'm correct, that accounts for almost 33% of the Rounds shot in Avacal. And, I believe, 18 of those archers have averages and get medallions!! These medallions will be handed out at our Yule Social in December.
But wait... here's the best part. FIVE of those archers are currently ranked in the Avacal Top Ten, (pending the final results of today's shoots). If you check back in earlier posts, I asked for people to set goals. Mine was to get archers in the top ten. How many of you set and achieved your archery goal this year? I did.
Of those archers, FOUR have the rank of Master Bowman, which is an average between 80 and 99. THREE of those archers achieved that rank this year!
Third. Thank you to Guillaume for allowing us to invade his property as often as we did in order to get this many shoots done this year.
For those of you who shot for the first time ever this year. I hope you had fun. I hope you learned some things that are helpful to you. And I hope you'll keep coming out. Welcome to the Cold Keep Company of Archery - We came. We saw. We poked it full of holes.
In closing... thank you all. It was great to have so many people coming out to shoot this summer. Many new faces are now new friends. I hope that each and every archer makes plans to come out and shoot again next year. Elena said last week, "I don't know how we're going to improve on this next year". Let's set a goal, right now, to have over 20 archers with averages next year. Come out, shoot three rounds on different days... Tah Dah! Average. So simple even a heavy fighter can do it.

Don't forget, I'll be presenting medallions to everyone who earned them at the social tomorrow!
